24.01 | Jan '24: Slow start of the year

A new year and what a year it will be! 2024 will be the year that StageRebels will open the doors to the whole world to see! But not in January yet

In this months blog...

Holidays

Many people extend their Christmas holidays into the first week of January and so did we. During this week, no progress was made on StageRebels other than reading some literature about the subjects we are interested in. The second week I went back to my normal day job and as always after holidays, those first few days are the heaviest!

Old Promises nearly Delivered

In the previous Blog Post I mentioned about the new structure and the website taking the new shape that I had in mind. On January 14th the Look & Feel, together with the new name went online, which was a big first step but at the same time, it was running an empty website with a few test articles. Since this was really bugging me, I launched the "Crash Course" articles on January 19th and also added in some "Power Ups" and an "Informational" page. Together with these new articles, I also started to recreate all the header images to fit into the style that I have in mind, which can be seen so far on the homepage, but soon the articles will also get new header images. I had this strong wish to keep them simple and in line with the topic I write about. This ended up in some creative work inside powerpoint to create all the header images with the build-in icon set and export the slides to graphics...

All in all, not a bad month for StageRebels.com :)

Still a lot more to do...

Even though I am making nice progress on getting the website ready for the official launch to the public, at this very moment there is still a lot of work to complete. I am currently checking the writing style of all the existing articles to match them really with my tone of voice and take out some grammatical mistakes. At the same time, I am still completing the header images to make the website a bit more attractive. I have some nice ideas for these, but I need to find some time to work on those, which will probably be early February.

Once all that is done, it is time to take the old "Step-By-Step" articles and add the information needed to make them into a new series called "From Start to Finish". A full and complete guide on how to get from start to finish.

Once that is done, I will start recording the needed video's! I have some great ideas already, just need to try some things out and have some materials ready prior to shooting.

Conclusion

That's it for this month, not the most productive yet, but hey, it is just the first month of the year and that is always a slow start in our family.
